What a crazy weekend! water temp was 71° on friday, pre-fishing for a few hours up north didnt get a bite till last few minutes before leaving around 1130am. water clarity was dirty maybe a foot of visablity weather sunny blue sky 75° little wind. Day 1 on saturday we fished more south looking for big fish up shallow in 5 to 15ft patchy weeds. Water clarity got alot better when close to deep water and moving more south of the lake. The wind picked up to 10 to 15mph around 10am off and on. We junk fished for a few hours without a bite then started finesse tactic almost dead sticking. Throwing up shallow and moving it back to the boat going between grass slowly. up around docks and boat any shadly spot we could find. We managed to get 25 pounds for day one. Water temp stayed the same about 69° early morning to 71° afternoon. Day 2 morning was alittle colder with due on the boat. water temp was a little colder then yesterday and wind started earlier off and on. The bass werent up shallow knowing the water temp dropped down a few degree. So we moved to 15 to 25ft of water and saw alot of school of bait fish. Didnt see any arches on the graphs. Started dropshoting and cranking trying to find them. Blue skys 72° with wind off and on. water temp started warming up later in the day. keep to same tactics we were doing yesterday. Alot tougher on day2 but we managed to get 18.11 to the scale.

Saturday 4/13/13 launched by the dam around 5am. The water clarity was 15 ft water temp 61.3 air 71,nice day to be fishing, wind 7 NE. Caught alot of spots mostly all same size running threw the slot. Looking for warmer water ran up north trying to target bigger fish, same thing. Started throwing spook early morning for a few hours. Had three blow ups but no keepers.. Moved to the jerk bait and a-rig, got few in jerk bait nothing on a-rig. It's only my second time fishing this lake didn't do good little over ten pounds. Good lake to catch a lot of fish was hard finding anything over two pounds. Over all still had a good time!
7.98 Last weekend was a good time we had @ clearlake fishing with Gilroy Bassmaster club against the Santa Clara bass busters! We fished a two day tourney, alot a big bags were caught! Saturday morning had a little overcast, visablitly 10ft water temp. 56f with winds up to 6mph in the afternoon. Most fish i got were close to the banks along docks. Sunday morning was a different story wind @15mph with four foot sweels @ safe light. Really hard to hold spots with that wind waves. The wind finally died down about four hours later. Few fish i got on a spinner blade why wind was up and A-rig. Got a nice 5.4 on A-rig along points and drop offs out of red bud. This nice Bigolpig i got on a drop shot two hrs before weigh in on the edge of a dock at 12ft . Go fish clearlake you'll have a good time. It was a nice day to be out on the water fishing. 62 to 65 degrees with water tempeture 54 and visablility 10 feet with over cast. The wind picked up alittle threw out the day with showers afternoon. Fish were sitting between 30' to 60' mostly rocky areas in main parts of the lake, never went up the creeks to see if water temp. changed. Sorry no pictures this time phone and gopro were both dead. Tuff finding good weight mostly all spots with one largemouth @ 2.87 got me pumped. Best of five 9.60 ! thanks for readed
Fish were still deep in the morning around 6am till sun hit the water fished moved up in shallows. Afternoon bite turned off fish moved deep again temp outside 85 degrees. looking for shaded spots with fallen down trees. Got a nice 6.5 6.8 early morning @ 20ft off rock shelf.
CLearlake was off the hook on getting big fish. Pre-spawning bass are all over the Keys and numerous rock piles and around boat docks. Move down to Redbud and Cache Creek where its deeper water with its largest arm throwing Swimbaits. If you dont have transportation on the water call my Guide Buddy Ed Legan @ 702-497-8938 Clearlake Family Guide Service he'll take you to some really good spots!
